Frequently Asked Questions
What is FAR Infrared Heat?
While most heated yoga studios use forced air to heat their rooms, Radiant Yoga uses FAR infrared heat, which provides a therapeutic, deep penetrating, detoxifying form of heat which expels toxins, heavy metals and pollutants from the body, providing significant benefits.
FAR infrared heat promotes a stronger immune system, better cardiovascular health, and speeds up the healing process in soft tissue injuries such as tears, pulls, and sprains. As a beauty treatment, the penetrating heat of far infrared heat therapy works wonders by reducing the appearance of crow’s feet, fine lines, and wrinkles. In addition to helping heal scars, wounds, and cuts, it also smoothes skin’s texture, lessens coarseness, and reduces pore size.
FAR infrared heat therapy is a natural way to aid aches and pains from arthritis, fibromyalgia and other health-related disorders. Providing relief to people suffering from chronic injury, illness or fatigue, far infrared heat is often the first step in helping them get their life back.
What type of yoga does Radiant offer?
We primarily offer Power Vinyasa Yoga. We also offer Yin Yoga (chill) and workshops. Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. This type of yoga is taught in a heated studio which makes it a vigorous and revitalizing form of physical fitness. It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina in one session. Baron Baptiste, the founder of this form of yoga, describes this practice as “the perfect blend of sweat and serenity.”
Vinyasa meaning, “flow” or “to move without resistance,” incorporates interval and cross-training exercises to challenge both the aerobic and anaerobic systems of the body. As your body adapts, it is important to vary the types, intensity and duration of the exercises. Power Vinyasa yoga incorporates regular sequences that become familiar to students, but incorporates variations to modify, intensify, or challenge the body by altering the pace or duration of poses, and the frequency that they are repeated.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat or anything else to class?
Radiant Yoga has yoga mats for rent. The first time you join us we will loan you a mat for free. You may want to invest in your own mat soon, once you decide to continue your yoga path with us. Bring water. Wear clothes that allow you to sweat and keep moving (we would avoid cottons and t-shirt material). We have towels for your use and a water fountain just outside our door.
Is there anything I should know about yoga etiquette?
We understand we all have busy lives, we do ask that you arrive to class 10 mins early if possible. Some of our classes are busier than others. If you need to leave a class early, we ask that you do so quietly and with respect of the other students.
Know you are welcome at Radiant Yoga, you will find friends in our community, we are so grateful you are here.
Where are you located?
Once you find our studio we hope it is home for you. We are upstairs at the El Dorado Hills Sports Club in Town Center. You will enter the sports club, sign in their roster (no charge) take a left up the stairs and then another left at the top of the stairs. We are right down the hall.
