Relax and have fun.
Yoga is a gift to your body and mind. Stay positive and embrace the experience. The instructors and students are there to support one another.
Drink plenty of water.
It’s very important to drink plenty of water before, during and after your workout. As your body sweats, it is getting rid of toxins. Water replenishes your body’s cells.
Wear comfortable clothes.
Look for clothing that stretches and keeps you dry. We do not recommend overly baggy clothing as it tends to bunch up during class. Cotton clothing is also not a good choice, as it holds moisture, and may get soaked with sweat. It’s best to wear stretchy clothing that whisks away perspiration and fits close to the body.
Practice makes perfect.
Like anything in life, the more you practice, the better you get. Strength, balance, flexibility and mental clarity are the rewards of dedicating yourself to a regular yoga schedule.
Listen to your body.
Initially your body will be sore from the new exercises, but over time you will adapt and feel strong. When in class, pace yourself to ensure that you do not overextend your body. Ask your instructor for modifications or help when needed.
