Cover Flow w/Kailey Hull 10/8

“Good artists copy, great artists steal.” – Pablo Picasso

All creativity builds upon something that existed before and every work of art is essentially a derivative work. Your life is your creation and the inspiration has got to come from somewhere! We’ll keep this idea front and center in a practice tuned to a soundtrack of all cover songs. Flow to familiar favorites, reworked into something fresh to help you embrace the process of reinvention, recreation, transformation and transcendence. Put a new lens on the way you see your practice, your life, the world and this moment.

Sunday, October 8th  8:15 am – 9:30 am

Wednesday Night Yin is Back starting 9/6 w/Diana Vitantonio!

Wednesday evening Yin is back with Diana Vitantonio starting September 6th at 6:00!

Yearning for some balance on your mat and in your life? Yin yoga is a complementary practice to the more dynamic vinyasa style you’ve grown to love. In yin, poses (mostly seated) are held passively for longer periods of time in order to access and open the deep layers of connective tissue in the body.

Physically, yin restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints. Yin also enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. This practice emphasizes stillness and silence, allowing for a meditative experience that will reduce anxiety, tension and stress. Unlock your body and free your mind!

THIS SATURDAY! – Radical Self Expression and Freedom Flow w/James Kapicka on 9/23

Join James for a practice of intuitive self expression, self reliance and sovereignty.  As humans, we all face challenges of guilt and shame, fear and doubt.  As a result, culture and ego work full time to distract us from this suffering with toys and idols, competition and accomplishments, gurus and false gods, all resulting in some form of debt and indentured servitude.  Through all this distraction, it can be easy to lose sight of your truth and purpose, and our shared reality and inter-being. Come explore through movement and community how to create clear emotional and psychological boundaries with interpersonal communication and agreements.  Support your Self worth with Self love, and find the freedom to be the fully embodied divine being you are!

Saturday, September 23rd from 8:15 – 9:45 am

Forgiveness Flow w/Emily Robinson on 10/1!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Forgiveness Flow and Silent Auction with Emily Robinson. This 90 minute donation based class will ask you to find your strength, open your heart and be a part of community Sunday October 1st. Emily will lead the class from her own experiences in healing on and off her mat. She will openly share with you her experiences of her Father’s suicide just 6 years ago. Already on her yoga journey she thought her yoga path would be tested. Instead she found grace, forgiveness and acceptance on her mat.

Unfortunately suicide is something we are all affected by whether it is speaking to our children, news of a celebrity or closer to home. No one is immune. Coming together can help take away the mystery, wonder and questions often associated with suicide. It is with truth and strength that we will bring awareness and prevention to this public health epidemic. We are teaming up with the Local Sacramento Chapter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise monetary donations, awareness and energy. https://afsp.org

One of the first steps to healing and coming into your power is forgiveness and understanding. Emily will offer you similar tools for you to find grace and forgiveness on your mat. Join us in support of others, your own journey or with a specific intention. All are welcome. Expect to be challenged in your practice. Expect to find softness in your practice. And expect to find the support of community. Through healing we find grace. Together we heal.

If you are a local business and interested in donating to the silent auction please contact Emily at yogaemmy@gmail.com by Sept 15th.

Sunday, October 1st from 10:00-11:30 am

Introduction to Arm Balances & Inversions

Join Sam and Shannon in this totally safe and supportive space as you practice moving through your fear. Just as everyone has experiences of fear, everyone has the ability to lean into courage and feel the sense of empowerment that comes from moving through the fear. Yoga asanas that place the heart above the head are one of the most tangible ways to literally shift our perspective and soar past our perceived limitations. The physical shift that occurs is a reflection of the opportunity for emotional transformation that takes place as we allow the energy of creativity to pour into our hearts and our heads. Whether you’ve been practicing for a day, or for years, this workshop holds an opportunity for you. Come to try something new, something just a little bit scary and know that all along, you will be safely guided. You’ll learn to use the powerful tools inside of you as you turn everything up-side-down – something that ultimately has the power to transform your whole way of thinking and being with yourself.
This is a beginner’s workshop but all levels are welcome.

NEW CLASS Ashtanga w/Sam! Tuesdays at 5:45 am!

Tuesdays, from 5:45 am – 7:30 am starting October 5th!

Due to the popularity of our Monday, noon-1:45 pm class, we are adding another!

Ashtanga is Vinyasa Yoga in its purest form.  An extensive series of postures, binds and mudras which combine together to create a flowing sequence, Ashtanga energizes and purifies the body while focusing and calming the mind. Meditative, challenging, and often intensely physical, this class links movement and breath to gradually open and expand our human range of motion, and connect us more deeply to our subtle body.
In this class Sam will lead the complete First Series, employing Sanskrit, chanting, and a traditional vinyasa count to assist students in developing a self-practice, which is the ultimate goal of Ashtanga Yoga.  Hands-on assistance, adjustments and modifications are an integral part of this practice, and students of all abilities are welcome to give it a try!
